Kill! Die! Gun! Spy!

Another Kill To Die For cover art

A while back, a friend gave us a writing prompt: “make a James Bond theme song.” Never ones to step down from a challenge, we immediately started writing an entire story for our imagined secret agent. Action! Treachery! Double-crosses! Alcoholism! We could see it on the big screen already. But more important than the film itself is the iconic theme song, so we knew we’d have to step it up.

Looking back to the early 007 films, we were guided by classics like “Diamonds Are Forever.” Sultry lounge meets loud swing, a delicate crooning over a roaring orchestral backing track, high drama in a retro package. And thus, “Another Kill To Die For” was born. Andrew pulled out all the stops, adding woodwinds, horns, and strings aplenty. Ben mostly sang like himself, but pretended he was wearing a smoking jacket. The movie poster-worthy cover art ties it all together: our anti-hero, an evil villain, a secret plan, a sweet seductress (the raccoon, obviously), gambling, action, and more action!

Mr. Broccoli, when you’re ready for the next Bond installment, you know where to find us.
